Chapter 44 - Face

Chapter 45 - Obligation

At least it looked like it to Larchen. Larchen looked at the colors of the insignias.

She looked like someone who was homeless, abandoned. To Larchen this was the best treasure he'd
ever find in this entire town. Because painting looked raw, it was a truth he'd never be able to imagine on his own.

She looked vulnerable, except the performance she was able to perform to handle her duties.

She looked like she was giving a solid effort and of course the painting was acknowledgement of recognition.

Looks like this was a major offensive by the allliance. That looked like the logistics alone would carve a massive
sized hole in amount of alliance resources.

Although it was a final effort never to be seen, it still looked very beautiful.

There were a few more exclusive pieces around. It was a grand celebration of their grand alliance.

There were also all sorts of trophies and awards around. The regalias symbolized the century old traditions. It looked
perhaps cool.

The artist intended for paintings to look like this. As if the whole host of alliance would take flight and venture
towards night. Quite an exeggeration.

Everyone is innocent once.... Whether its human or demon. You can still do dark deeds in the name of high ethics.

Nevertheless, changing cycle brings lessons within it.Like sea cucumbers, destiny eliminates us, that was the real
lesson in these paintings.

They were recordings of heavy effort to adaptation to the changes. And some decades had teeth.. like a chip of
anxiety over one's shoulder.

Larchen was under no illusions, alliance were super rich. Only a strict structure made it possible for alliance to wage
rand wars.

Our faces changed most of their look as time passed. And we pretended we've done the best we can.

We look at the possibilities as a passing guest hearing a voice we can't understand.

We've only ourselves to blame.

Rest of the paintings looked pretty average. He pocketed as much as his inventory ring allowed. He left some
space since there were probably a few artifacts here.

Larchen threw out the items which weren't signed by masters out of his inventory.

There was one more interesting painting which depicted the moon sign, but this time the hero's face were really
lien. In fact the point was obvious because same face drawn many times across the large sky.

They all looked at the middle part of the sky. Other than that it was a similiar painting as others.

Larchen pocketed the last painting.

He would deliver these to proper owners if they were important, others he would sell.

There also recipes and other items other than just artworks. Some Larchen had never heard of.

There were a few exquisite handcrafted gifts. Larchen decided to check on Tom.

Tom looked surrounded as if the souls were tribesman with various weapons. Or he was giving sound
advice to his fellow investors at the market.

He would then haggle price of tomatoes with the shades in this scenario. They would point out their
faults in their logic, to each other.

Tom's pursuit for shelter didn't go well apparently. The investor rush clearly didnt buy his proof of residence.

The electric crackled as Eldress started whipping at the shades. The time slowed down to a halt, as
things were almost moving in slow motion.

It went on for quite a while, as the lightning suddenly went through the shades in sequentially forming
a chain link reaction.

Shades went wild, as they kept turning to charred meat.

They become more efficient as Tom struggled to keep them at bay. Eventually a few were close enough
o sink their teeth at Eldresses body.

They murmured with their tiny voices. They were probably complaining about how difficult it is to get to her.

They probably weren't used to as tough oponents as the Eldress.

Larchen jumped into the scene like an olympic frog.

Larchen threw a green lightning in the middle. The shades screamed. Let's go Tom.. jump in.. I'll carry you
across. Shades usually leave me alone.

.......

Let's get out...Before we are overwhelmed.

I'm late to dinner.
