Chapter 29- Preparing for the Poetry Competition

Chapter 29- Preparing for the Poetry Competition

Larchen realized he totally forgot that next phase of the hero competition was soon. Heroe
s would compete

on the quality of their poetry... With the scuffle of the siege out of the way, the town w
as lively again.. Everyone

who returned from the last foray which amounted close to a 700 people were participating.

The council of elders and various officials were tired of chaotic nature that happened thi
s time around the events. So

they decided to increase the rewards to save face. Larchen has finally turned her life aro
und finally, the area around the

old church was a now a busy place of the city. He restored their house, and they nev
er moved to another place, but

he also added some extra buildings and turned  it a mansion with a large courtyard.

Larchen had been through a lot this past year.. His life has totally changed.. He si
t down in his desk and started writing

an impresive poem...To them he poured all his feelings that accompanied him through
the dangers he faced daily, and how

blessed he felt to survive the impossible situations he was unprepared for. He has m
ade new friends, and some of them

considered him an hero.. although Larchen weren't the type, he had a few veterans he
could count on now, even among

      his own faction...

Larchen has written and written, he kept writing through the night...He was careful
to arrange the lines, when it was

too exciting, he eased the tension, when the prose was too silent, he made some flai
r with fireworks, he made sure

the poems weren't too detached like he tended to be.. Unfortunately he realized, he
overdone it, and written an entire

book before he was finished. His wife were looking at the book and him with strange
expression..

        - Larchen... Elder Fowliang said

        - Yees ? yes...

        - What is this, have you written a book ?

        - It appears so...

        - Are you going to sell it ???

        - Hmm, its for competition....

        - So you aren't ?

        - They aren't mutually exclusive...

        - Sigh... she yawned

        - Hear me out... If i succeed in the competition, then its a little bit of free ma
rketing, don't you think ? Remember what

the old historian said ? ...

        - Whatever, Larchen, i'm busy.. she said, stretching mysteriously

        - Larchen was sweating profusely... and held on to his book dearly...

        --

        -Hey, dad, its raining,

his daughter came running from the coutyard...  Larchen felt awkward, but still hu
gged her lifing her up like a little cub..

        - My daugther will bring me luck, what a rain bringer... Let's get you inside..

His wife looked at them emotionlessly.. as she often did..

        - You are soaking wet, change your shirt, she said..

Larchen changed her clothes.. Then they came back to the room. They stood there fo
r a while, nobody saying

        anything.

Fowliang sighed.. This cheeky brat was really...  While she has felt joy in her he
art.. She also was aware that how

deliberately Larchen were provoking her.. in a way.. He always seemed happy, like
a robot, ignoring anything negative,

she both felt pity for him, but she was also a bit shocked.... It was not a comfor
table feeling..

If she thought about her feelings and searched them for a path, she would say most
ly... that she liked the power

and status... that accompanied him, So, she felt dirty.. for having feelings for h
im and plans for them... Since he

was grinning like a rogue again... she was helpless as usual. She disliked feeling
so strange.. But she knew she

couldn't let him go either... it would be a mistake..

She ran her fingers through her hair... and imagined what it would be like, if she
did dump him, properly and rightfully..

He would be heart-broken, but still take care of their child.. Then he would move
on, this character weren't one to

wallow in melancholy all day, he would not romance her and try to change her mind,
as most do.. She shook her

head.. he would find a new wife... that made her angry..

So she tried to love him... imagined their heroic life together, she tried to see
him in such naturally romantic way, that

fit to her measures well.. While he was no help to anything of the sort good or ba
d, she at least could pretend right ?

She hiddenly were also thinking what was he going to do next ? Would he lead his t
rade guild, winning the next election...

Perhaps it was a job she could do.. If she dumped him, it'd be.. difficult and ina
ppropriate to get that job..

Larchen kept grinning like a retard...

He was a loud dude, everyone knew about their daily life... Which was.. some sort
of.. weight on her.. The amount of curves

and shifts he achieved to keep her around in such a state deliberately were epic o
n itself. IT was so improper, but to her

more than others really.. He was deciding everything, while pretending not to do a
nything much..she didn't have chances

to object... or more like, energy or any real will or opposition...

The council of elders and various officials were tired of chaotic nature that happen
ed this time around the events. So

they decided to increase the rewards to save face. Larchen has finally turned her li
fe around finally, the area around the

old church was a now a busy place of the city. He restored their house, and they nev
er moved to another place, but

he also added some extra buildings and turned  it a mansion with a large courtyard.

Larchen had been through a lot this past year.. His life has totally changed.. He si
t down in his desk and started writing

an impresive poem...To them he poured all his feelings that accompanied him through
the dangers he faced daily, and how

blessed he felt to survive the impossible situations he was unprepared for. He has m
ade new friends, and some of them

considered him an hero.. although Larchen weren't the type, he had a few veterans he
could count on now, even among

      his own faction...

Larchen has written and written, he kept writing through the night...He was careful
to arrange the lines, when it was

too exciting, he eased the tension, when the prose was too silent, he made some flai
r with fireworks, he made sure

the poems weren't too detached like he tended to be.. Unfortunately he realized, he
overdone it, and written an entire

book before he was finished. His wife were looking at the book and him with strange
expression..

        - Larchen... Elder Fowliang said

        - Yees ? yes...

        - What is this, have you written a book ?

        - It appears so...

        - Are you going to sell it ???

        - Hmm, its for competition....

        - So you aren't ?

        - They aren't mutually exclusive...

        - Sigh... she yawned

        - Hear me out... If i succeed in the competition, then its a little bit of free ma
rketing, don't you think ? Remember what

the old historian said ? ...

        - Whatever, Larchen, i'm busy.. she said, stretching mysteriously

        - Larchen was sweating profusely... and held on to his book dearly...

        --

        -Hey, dad, its raining,

his daughter came running from the coutyard...  Larchen felt awkward, but still hu
gged her lifing her up like a little cub..

        - My daugther will bring me luck, what a rain bringer... Let's get you inside..

His wife looked at them emotionlessly.. as she often did..

        - You are soaking wet, change your shirt, she said..

Larchen changed her clothes.. Then they came back to the room. They stood there fo
r a while, nobody saying

        anything.

Fowliang sighed.. This cheeky brat was really...  While she has felt joy in her he
art.. She also was aware that how

deliberately Larchen were provoking her.. in a way.. He always seemed happy, like
a robot, ignoring anything negative,

she both felt pity for him, but she was also a bit shocked.... It was not a comfor
table feeling..

If she thought about her feelings and searched them for a path, she would say most
ly... that she liked the power

and status... that accompanied him, So, she felt dirty.. for having feelings for h
im and plans for them... Since he

was grinning like a rogue again... she was helpless as usual. She disliked feeling
so strange.. But she knew she

couldn't let him go either... it would be a mistake..

She ran her fingers through her hair... and imagined what it would be like, if she
did dump him, properly and rightfully..

He would be heart-broken, but still take care of their child.. Then he would move
on, this character weren't one to

wallow in melancholy all day, he would not romance her and try to change her mind,
as most do.. She shook her

head.. he would find a new wife... that made her angry..

So she tried to love him... imagined their heroic life together, she tried to see
him in such naturally romantic way, that

fit to her measures well.. While he was no help to anything of the sort good or ba
d, she at least could pretend right ?

She hiddenly were also thinking what was he going to do next ? Would he lead his t
rade guild, winning the next election...

Perhaps it was a job she could do.. If she dumped him, it'd be.. difficult and ina
ppropriate to get that job..

Larchen kept grinning like a retard...

He was a loud dude, everyone knew about their daily life... Which was.. some sort
of.. weight on her.. The amount of curves

and shifts he achieved to keep her around in such a state deliberately were epic o
n itself. IT was so improper, but to her

more than others really.. He was deciding everything, while pretending not to do a
nything much..she didn't have chances

to object... or more like, energy or any real will or opposition...

Chapter 29- Preparing for the Poetry Competition
